India has sent a fourth airlift to flood-hit Nepal, taking total relief flown in to 68.5 tonnes, as 108 Indian nationals have been rescued and more than 275 remain missing.
External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar said the latest IAF flight carried 11 tonnes of supplies, a tunnel search-and-rescue contingent and forensic experts for DNA identification. Hindustan Times and India Today reported the Ministry of External Affairs figures: 108 Indians rescued, contact restored with others, and around 900 Indians still on the Chinese side but safe.
The Bhote Koshi floods of 26 August have killed hundreds in Nepal, with thousands missing. India has also moved Bailey-bridge equipment to restore road links, the MEA said.
