We get things wrong sometimes. When we do, we fix it in the open rather than quietly.
How to report an error
Email corrections@indenews.in with the article URL and a description of the error. If you can point us to a source, that speeds things up considerably.
We aim to acknowledge every correction request within one working day.
How we handle corrections
- Factual errors are corrected in the article text, with a dated correction note appended at the foot of the story explaining what was changed.
- Significant errors — those that change the substance or meaning of a story — additionally carry a note at the top of the article.
- Typographical fixes that do not affect meaning are made silently.
- Updates to developing stories are timestamped so readers can see what changed and when.
What we do not do
We do not delete published articles to make errors disappear. If a story is withdrawn entirely, the URL is retained with an explanation of why it was withdrawn.
Unresolved complaints
If you are not satisfied with how we have handled a correction, escalate to our Grievance Officer — details on the Contact page.
