The service uses an SMS-based system designed to work where 2G coverage is thin. It will come pre-installed on selected Nokia, HMD, Lava and itel (Transsion) devices. Users can send money to a mobile number or UPI ID, pay merchants, scan QR codes on camera phones, and check balances and history.

Founder Sameer Nigam said the aim was to bring the “next 300 million users” into digital payments. Bill payments, recharges and Aadhaar-based onboarding are planned. Registration does not need a smartphone or data, the company said.
