Social activist Anna Hazare is stable at Bombay Hospital in Mumbai, his doctor said on Tuesday, after Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis visited him in the ward.

Hazare, 89, was brought to the hospital on Monday night from Ralegan Siddhi in Ahilyanagar district. His aide said blood reports had indicated a renal infection. Dr Gautam Bhansali, the consultant physician treating him, said he had a month-long viral fever and was not in the ICU. He is eating and drinking and responding to treatment, the doctor told PTI.
Fadnavis wished him a speedy recovery and told him the cabinet had approved a revised cost estimate for the Kukadi irrigation project. The CMO said Hazare was pleased. Minister Girish Mahajan was also present.
