RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat told an audience in New York that a Hindu who believes Muslims should have no place in India would cease to be a Hindu.
Addressing the ‘One World, One Humanity’ gathering, Bhagwat recalled being asked in 2018 whether the RSS idea of a Hindu Rashtra meant Muslims would be driven out. “I said, no, that is not Hindutva. If any Hindu thinks that there should be no Muslims in Bharat, he will not remain Hindu,” The Hindu and Indian Express reported him as saying.
He said religions may differ but humanity is one, and that India’s tradition had been to give shelter irrespective of religious identity. The remarks came during the RSS centenary-year outreach in the United States, as reported by PTI, The Hindu and Indian Express.
